Vision Surgery

No matter what you read about the benefits of laser corrective surgery, it’s certainly not for everyone. Good eye health is integral to how well you will respond to any type of surgery and a quick eye exam with Dr. Faye will go a long way towards determining if you’re a good candidate. What type of surgery you’ll need to correct your vision is also something that Dr. Faye can help you choose. Today’s choices for surgery are abundant, and can range anywhere from reshaping the surface of your eye to inserting artificial lenses. Some of the most common ones you’ll read about today are:

LASEK
Epi-LASIK
Bladeless LASIK
Wavefront LASIK
PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)
CK (Conductive Keratoplasty)

Cataract Surgery

Also known as Lens Replacement Surgery, Cataract Surgery is suggested when the opacification of your natural lens becomes too “cloudy” for eyeglasses or contact lenses to correct your vision. Most cataracts are associated with aging and are very common today. According to the NEI (National Eye Institute), over 20 million cataract surgeries were performed in 2010 and will double by 2030. Fortunately, modern cataract surgery is one of the most frequently performed surgeries alongside Cesarian Sections, Biopsies, and Appendectomies. Should you be a patient with cataracts or at-risk for cataracts, Dr. Faye will be able to track your progression during your annual check ups and let you know if surgery is required.
